Practical information for Bulgaria

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING RELEVANT DOCUMENTS LIKE:
Passport, Weapon permit, EU Firearm Passport, Firearm Certificate and Hunting Licence

TRANSPORTATION OF WEAPONS IN AEROPLANES:
Sharp implements such as knives, scissors, etc. are not allowed in your hand luggage. Please also be aware that your rifle should be transported in a locked hard case and checked-in separately, and that bolt and ammunition (also in a locked case with each cartridge in its own space) should be transported in the ordinary luggage, which is checked-in, i.e. never in the hand luggage.

Before checking in, please approach Customs or the Police with your weapon and weapon permit to make official clearance.

Today many airlines have a fee for the transport of weapon, please ask at the airport and pay directly. It varies between 20 – 40 EUR. The fee has to be paid each way and applies per weapon in a weapon suitcase below 1.40 m and 15 kg. (The fee must be paid on check-in). This means that besides the normal 20 kg baggage you may bring an additional 15 kg in the form of a weapon suitcase against paying a smaller fee compared to the prices for excess weight. As hunters rarely ever keep within 20 kg baggage incl. the weapon suitcase it’s good initiative in our opinion.

VIP-SERVICE:
Optional/extra costs: The Bulgarian VIP-Service means that the people employed there will take extra good care of you during your stay. As soon as you arrive in Bulgaria, you will be in our partner’s care. The VIP-Service-people are waiting for you already in the airport/at the customs, and they will take care of all entry formalities.

From LIMPOPO/DIANA you will receive a voucher, which you must show at the passport examination. You will receive a residence card, on which your weapon data will be noted. When leaving the country, it is important that this remark of weapon will be removed. The Bulgarian VIP-Service will take care of you during your whole stay, and they will bring you back to the airport, when you are to leave the country again, and also help you through customs with your trophies.

SHIPMENT OF TROPHIES TO HOME COUNTRY:
Under normal circumstances all hunters can take their trophies home right away, provided that they have been properly packed for the flight. But you have to count in enough time for measuring of the trophy, which takes place 24 hours after boiling. Should it happen that a hunter shortly before leaving the district shoots a piece of game and there is not enough time left for boiling/measuring, this trophy can be shipped later by normal shipping agent to your address. You can agree and pay for this directly before you leave.

INSURANCE:
Please note that our travel and cancellation insurance also includes hunting liability. Since a hunting liability insurance is required for travel in Europe, you must have such an insurance. We assume that you have a valid hunting licence, which is a condition for you being covered by the insurance. Please see the enclosed brochure. If you have to cancel, you will receive an I.O.U. for the price of the trip.

PRICELIST ARRANGEMENTS:
A basic price including stay and accommodation will figure on your confirmation. You will further be charged a trophy deposit (50 % of the price for the wanted trophy size). Both amounts must be paid to our office before departure. After your return we receive a statement from Bulgaria. From this statement we can see what you have shot and so on. Based on this statement we make a final invoice to you. If you have been successful, the remaining 50 % +/- any difference will be regulated in this final invoice. If you have paid too much, you will immediately receive a refund. If you have paid too little, however, you will receive an invoice, which you are requested to pay within 10 days of receipt.

FIRST TIME TRAVELLERS:
When hunting abroad, you represent the hunters of your country. The people you meet, will naturally judge the standard of hunters from your country, from the way you behave. Fortunately, LIMPOPO/DIANA hunters are generally welcome, and we would very much like this to continue, so we urge you to maintain calm and dignity in any crisis or disagreement.

EMERGENCY TELEPHONE:
LIMPOPO/DIANA has established an emergency telephone service, whereby our clients can reach us 24 hours a day - 7 days a week - and talk to a competent member of our staff. We would like to stress that this service is intended for emergency calls only, where contact with LIMPOPO/DIANA or a next of kind is vital. Please feel free to use this line, when absolutely necessary, but please also avoid any unnecessary calls - ++45 30 26 25 40.

PHOTOS:
From our hunters we are very interested in receiving photos, which possibly can be used in connection with offers and our annual catalogue appearing at the end of the year. We would very much like to receive the photos as soon as possible after your return. If your pictures are used in the catalogue, you will receive € 50,-. The amount will be credited your LIMPOPO/DIANA account and may be used on your next trip.

Please note the importance of where the picture is taken, which means that it is best photographing for example the shot stag in the nature and not in front of a house, a Landrover, a fence etc.

RETURN HOME:
We always appreciate hearing from you after your return home. It is of the utmost importance for us to know, what happens "out there". This is the only way, we can develop and possibly improve our hunting tours. Therefore - whether you wish to praise or criticise - please let us hear from you!

We hope, the above answers most of the questions which you naturally have before the trip. Should you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
